# Blue Collar Visibility

Brand foundations v0.2 · October 2026

## Identity

Good work deserves to be seen. The identity pairs the Open sight symbol with the full name Blue Collar Visibility. Every word is equally important. The USA-inspired palette uses deep navy and signal blue with white and light gray.

## Logo system

The primary lockup puts the symbol to the left of a two-line name. The ring and BLUE COLLAR are navy. Blue appears in two places only: the detached diagonal signal and a 12°-skewed highlight band behind VISIBILITY, whose letters are white. In one-colour versions the band takes the logo colour and VISIBILITY is cut out of it, so the surface behind shows through. Don't redraw, recolour, or straighten the band. No end dot.

Use the supplied SVG masters. Lettering is outlined from Kanit 600 with −0.045em tracking, 0.88 line height, equal-size words, and a transparent cut in the O. There are no live font dependencies or embedded bitmaps in the SVGs. PNG companions are transparent.

Available layouts:

- Primary lockup: default symbol + two-line name.
- Stacked lockup: symbol + three-line name for taller placements.
- Horizontal lockup: symbol + single-line name for wide placements.
- Text mark: two-line, three-line, or single-line name without the symbol.
- Visual mark: symbol only, where the full name already appears nearby.

Available colors: navy + blue, all navy, all white, and all black. Text-only color and navy variants are intentionally identical; the blue accent belongs to the symbol.

Use the all-white logo on navy, blue, or a sufficiently dark solid surface. Use navy + blue or all navy on white or light gray. Never put the blue signal on a blue background. Do not stretch, rotate, add effects, outline, add punctuation, or recolor individual words.

## Clear space and starting minimum sizes

Maintain clear space of at least half the symbol width around the entire lockup. For a standalone text mark, use half the capital letter height. The SVG export margin does not replace layout clear space.

| Asset | Starting screen width | Starting print width |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Primary lockup | 240px | 50mm |
| Symbol | 24px | 6mm |
| Two-line text mark | 180px | 38mm |
| Stacked lockup | 180px | 38mm |
| Horizontal lockup | 420px | 90mm |
| Single-line text mark | 360px | 76mm |

These are starting recommendations, not validated production limits. Inspect the O cut and signal gap at final size. Proof embroidery, vinyl, and printing with the supplier; use a larger size if detail closes up.

## Color

| Name | Hex | RGB | Role |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Deep navy | #142B4F | 20, 43, 79 | Primary identity, headings, copy |
| Signal blue | #2563EB | 37, 99, 235 | Signal accent, actions, short accents |
| Light gray | #F7F4ED | 247, 244, 237 | Background |
| White | #FFFFFF | 255, 255, 255 | Clear space, reversed identity |

Let light surfaces dominate. Navy anchors the composition; blue supplies focus. White on navy has 14.1:1 contrast, white on blue 5.17:1, and navy on paper 12.9:1. All meet WCAG AA for normal text. Avoid blue on navy (2.7:1), navy on blue, and reading text over patterns.

Colors are specified in sRGB. Have your printer convert and proof against the intended stock. No universal CMYK or Pantone match is prescribed. `palette.json` and `tokens.css` contain reusable screen values.

## Typography

Kanit is the typeface. Use weight 600 for identity and display headings, 500–600 for section headings, 400 for body copy, and 500 for labels. Start with:

- Display: 48–80px, line height 1.0–1.1.
- Section headings: 28–40px, line height 1.15.
- Body: 16–18px, line height 1.5–1.6.
- Labels: 12–14px, line height 1.4.

Scale responsively. Use sentence case in editorial copy. Tight logo spacing is not a body-text style. Do not reconstruct the logo by typing it; use the outlined files. Kanit's SIL Open Font License is included as `Kanit-OFL.txt`; font binaries are not included in the kit.

## Stars-and-stripes pattern

Two transparent SVG tiles are included: `flag-pattern.svg` and `flag-pattern-tonal.svg`. Each is 192 × 144 units. Staggered stars sit over paired stripes. They evoke the US flag without reproducing its literal layout.

Repeat with `background-repeat: repeat; background-size: 192px 144px;`. Scale both dimensions by the same factor. Do not stretch or rotate. The pattern is tonal only: navy at 9% for stars and 7% for stripes, on white or light-gray surfaces. There is no full-color version.

Use it for covers, panels, and border treatments. Place the logo and reading text in solid panels, preserving clear space. Keep the pattern out of the logo itself.

## Voice

Be direct, grounded, and confident. Respect the people doing skilled work. Explain what we do, who it helps, and the next step. Use evidence instead of inflated promises.

- Prefer “Help the right customers find your business” to “Unlock unparalleled market dominance.”
- Explain what changed and how it was measured; never invent metrics or testimonials.
- Use clear invitations such as “Tell us about your business.”

Voice examples are starting points, not approved service or performance claims.

## Applications

Use the full-color primary logo on light surfaces. Use all-white for dark signage and panels. The symbol can work as an avatar when the full name is visible nearby. Keep blue accents focused on actions, a short rule, or the symbol's signal. Use the flag-inspired pattern as a separate supporting area.

## Files and versioning

Filename structure: `bcv-{symbol|wordmark|lockup}-{layout}-{color}.svg`, with layout omitted for the standalone symbol. Layouts are `primary`, `stacked`, and `horizontal`; colors are `color`, `navy`, `white`, and `black`.

The kit has 28 SVGs and 28 transparent PNGs. Symbol PNGs are 640px wide; other PNGs are 1600px wide. SVGs are preferred for print and any use requiring resizing. `manifest.json` lists every master. This is v0.2; minimum sizes, physical materials, and campaign voice remain open to refinement.
